THE STORY
Creating Magic in the Premium Penthouse "Ordynka 25"
One of our latest project is an elegant penthouse in the prestigious residential complex "Ordynka 25." The beginning of this story was quite unexpected. Our future client already had a design project prepared by another architectural bureau, and the walls in his apartment had already been erected.
However, fate had a surprise in store for us. While passing by a neighboring apartment in this complex, where our team was completing finishing works, the client was attracted by the open door and the activity of the workers. Curiosity led him inside. Impressed by what he saw, he decided that we would be the ones to work on his penthouse and asked us to review his current project.
After reviewing the previous design project, we concluded that there was a need for a complete redesign of the space. Despite all the challenges, our task was to start anew, re-imagine the space, and create something unique. Thus, we began developing a new layout solution, turning every challenge into an opportunity for creativity.
Project Features: Merging Modernity and History in the Heart of Moscow
Our new apartment in the "Ordynka 25" residential complex is not just premium housing. It's unique for its location in the quiet Zamoskvorechye, where modern architectural solutions harmoniously blend with the city's historical heritage. It's a place where every corner breathes history, and every new day brings its own impressions. A distinctive feature of this apartment is its format. A rare opportunity to have access to a spacious roof with its own veranda of 250 sq.m. opens up a mesmerizing panoramic view of the Kremlin and the ancient churches of Moscow. Just imagine: morning coffee on your terrace with such a view!
The clients – a family with three children, two of whom have already become students, were able to describe their wishes for the future space in detail. Based on their needs, it was decided to create two children's rooms, an office, a master block, and a living room. A staircase leading to the roof was planned in the living room.
The Art of Light and Innovation
Upon entering the apartment, the first thing that catches your eye is the remarkable hall. One of the key decisions we made during the design process was to introduce natural light into the hall. To achieve this goal, a unique fully transparent cabinet made of fluted glass was installed in the living room, which not only serves its direct function of storage but also acts as a source of natural light for the hall. This unusual design move allowed creating an exciting play of shadows and light in the hall, giving the space a special atmosphere and depth.
However, our approach to design was not limited to aesthetics only. Considering that there are many engineering systems hidden in the ceiling space, we faced the necessity to provide access to these communications. Traditional hatches could have disrupted the aesthetic look of the hall, so we developed an innovative solution: a fully removable ceiling structure.
This ceiling not only provides easy access to engineering systems but also looks so refined that it sets new standards of aesthetics for removable ceilings in the market.
Living Room: The Art of Combination and Harmony
Leaving the hall, we are greeted by a magnificent living room, which is the central space of this apartment. An elegant lightweight staircase with "floating" steps leading to the veranda on the roof has been installed in the living room, providing direct access to incredible city views.
The living room space is carefully thought out and divided into two functional zones. On one side is a cozy sofa area – the perfect place for relaxation and conversation. On the other side – the kitchen and dining area, where you can enjoy dinners with family and friends.
One of the achievements of our team in this project was the successful combination of four different types of stone. Each stone has its bright and expressive veins, representing a real work of art. At first glance, it may seem that combining such different materials in one space is an insurmountable task. However, our experience and skill allowed us to create a harmonious space where each type of stone complements each other, creating a unique and unforgettable atmosphere in the living room.
